Oh Canada!

The Surrey Children’s Choir’s 26th season has flown by, and will go out with a bang this Sunday, at the Surrey Arts Centre, when the “choir family” presents “Oh Canada!” a celebration of songs written and arranged by Canadian composers.

The first half of the concert will see formal sets performed by the Junior and Intermediate training choirs, the Chamber Choir, the Youth Chorus, and the Surrey Children’s Choir ‘Senior Choir’.  Audience members will surely delight in hearing favourite folk songs such as “Away From the Roll of the Sea”, “Out on the Mira” and “Blooming Bright Star of Belle Isle”, to name a few.

The choreographed numbers of the second half are sure to entertain - what’s not to love about log-drivers, tango dancers and French-Canadian peasants? The second half will also feature 10 year chorister Robert McMorran-Rodgers as Anne of Green Gables, and 10 year chorister Kyra Borland-Walker and 20 year chorister Aaron Schollen performing “Indian Love Call” from the operetta “Rose-Marie”.

The finale will see all 5 choirs in the SCC family joining together in song.
